Deidra McBean is a finance professional with over 15 years of comprehensive experience in finance, budgeting, and reporting. She is currently the Associate Director of the Astraea Foundation, a philanthropic organization focusing on human and social rights for the LGBTQI+ communities worldwide. Deidra provides support and insight over a diverse $25M grant portfolio while enhancing financial transparency, strengthening compliance oversight and risk analysis of grant funding to sub-recipients, and strengthening relationships with funders and stakeholders aligned with the mission and vision of the Foundation.
Deidra’s professional journey includes significant contributions to the healthcare industry. Her roles at 1199SEIU Benefit and Pension Funds and Montefiore Medical Center involved managing extensive operating budgets, ranging from $150 to over $200 million. She collaborated closely with medical professionals, senior executives, and other stakeholders to optimize financial performance in organizational operations.
Deidra holds a BA in Economics from SUNY Buffalo and an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University. While she isn’t working, Deidra enjoys traveling, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
